Nonprobate Asset
An asset not subject to administration, or a probate that generally cannot be reached by an administrator or executor. Examples include, anything paid by contractual beneficiary designation (like life insurance proceeds paid under a beneficiary designation), joint accounts with beneficiary designations, or pay on death accounts.
